Nights and Weekends

When the CommCreative team is not spending their days executing top-notch unified marketing campaigns, we are a very busy group outside of these agency walls. On top of being marketers, we are artists, athletes, writers, activists, mothers, fathers, sons, daughters and friends. While marketing is our key passion during the day, here are some of the activities where we express our creative energies on our nights and weekends away from the office.

When the local Border's book store was going out of business, my kids wanted to go and apparently buy armfuls of cheap books. I shrugged and walked over to the nearest shelf to see what I could find.

I am the consummate procrastinator when it comes to painting. I’m fortunate enough to have a studio in my home, and the unfinished works just keep piling up.

I need motivation – and I’m always surprised at the form it takes.

I wanted to try my hand at oil painting this week, so I bought a canvas, some brushes and some oil paints, and attempted my first piece. First I drew what I wanted to create and I worked on painting it for over a week. Eventually, I stood back to look at it and decided that I absolutely hated what I had created. So, when I got home from work the next day, I bought some paint thinner, and wiped it clean so I could started over.
