We believe in the transformative power of the big idea
And we don’t stop there. We pay close attention to the hundreds of seemingly small details that give an idea wings. Then we let it soar.

WHAT WE DO

Branding

Branding

Building the foundation

Actionable branding brings together the right look and exactly the right messaging so your marketing efforts can soar. We do the deep research, develop your unique brand story, then bring it to life vividly.

Strategy

Strategy

Creating the master plan

Great strategy has no bias. It doesn’t favor the latest trends over the tried and true. Digital over direct. Social over print. What makes a strategy great is a plan designed to reach the maximum number of qualified leads with the greatest efficiency and effectiveness, using all the appropriate channels.

Digital

Digital

Developing your online presence

Being a Google Certified Partner helps us stay on top of the latest innovations in search marketing and digital advertising. But knowing what’s new is only a small part of the story. We deliver you the qualified leads you need with highly memorable—and measureable—digital strategies that leverage our knowledge of what works, at which times and on which audiences.

Creative

Creative

Bringing it all to life

Creative for creative’s sake wins awards. Creative that gives voice to your marketing strategy wins you customers. That has been our guiding principle for over 20 years. We tell meaningful, visually rich stories that allow our clients to rise above the noise, separate themselves from their competition and win more business.

Public Relations

Public Relations

Talking to the media

The role of public relations is evolving. No longer is the focus solely on getting in front of the media. Our approach to PR is about crafting a clear and concise story, then leveraging our media and industry relationships to get the story placed on as many appropriate channels as possible.

Social Media

Social Media

Engaging with your audience

The social landscape is shifting. Users are increasingly seeing your social media presence as an extension of your web presence and your overall brand. We build social strategies that will engage and expand your network of hand-raisers. Content is at the core of everything we do and we know how to infuse it with unmatched creativity.

Who we are

Alex Nosevich

VP, Creative Director

Upon graduating from the Maryland Institute, College of Art, Alex took his fine arts degree and, naturally, went into advertising. Over the course of his career, he's written (and even occasionally designed) successful campaigns for Tyco, Bose, Staples, Philips and more. When he's not writing or collaborating with clients and the creative department he heads, he keeps busy hanging out with his family and spending way too much time on the golf course.

Fun fact: Alex's logo for First Mariner Bank in Baltimore was once the second largest neon sign along Baltimore's Inner Harbor. Take that, Paul Rand.

Joanna Bittle

VP, Strategy

What Joanna has done for CommCreative’s clients over her decade-long tenure with us is impressive. She led go-to-market strategies for healthcare, biotech and software companies including LEWA, Wavelink, Health Dialog and GE Healthcare. She engineered the digital strategy for Bose Automotive’s global web presence. And for RSA Conference, Joanna helped unify all channels to achieve a 17% year-over-year attendance increase—to more than 40,000 at the San Francisco event in 2016.

She’s also spent almost ¼ of her life in school, including three years at Warsaw University (yes, in Poland), two years at Rowan University in New Jersey (which isn’t Poland, but might feel as far removed sometimes), and four years at Clark University.

Ashley DePaolo

Vice President, Strategic Communications

Ashley’s extensive experience is made clear by the wide range of clients she’s worked with: Verscend Technologies, Hebrew SeniorLife, Massage Envy, Kimpton Hotels, d-CON, GUNK, Liquid Wrench, RSC Bio Solutions, RSA Conference, Walker Parking Consultants, Sunstar/GUM, Rockland Trust and National Development. It’s that ability to grasp any client’s essence that makes her such an asset. She’s also played an integral role in several award-winning national campaigns, and considers the Harvard Business School Key Executive Program to be two weeks that changed her life.

Ashley’s our expert multi-tasker. But perhaps it’s gone too far. To meet her daily Fitbit step goals, she’ll occasionally start marching during meetings. It’s only awkward the first time. Because you quickly realize she’s perpetually going places.

Jennifer Ashkinos

EVP, Managing Director

Jennifer has worked with clients in the franchise, CPG and pharmaceutical sectors, including Wendy’s, Massage Envy, Miller Brewing Company, The Olive Garden, Hasbro Toys and McNeil Consumer Healthcare. She and her husband came to us from Manhattan, where they also owned an award-winning production, editorial and graphics company that produced commercials, independent films, and opening title cards for TV and film. When the company was first nominated for an Emmy Award, Jennifer was ecstatic for her red carpet moment…but her husband drove to the wrong theater in Los Angeles. Somehow they’re still married.

Outside of CommCreative, Jennifer is a bit of an adventure junkie who enjoys skydiving, rappelling, trapezing and the occasional smoked termite—but only when paired with the right wine.

Waseem Kawaf

Director of Digital Marketing

To say Waseem’s background is versatile is a bit of an understatement. He’s worked with over 150 clients across the banking, healthcare, high-tech, higher education, retail, ecommerce, and aerospace sectors. Some of the more notable names include Deutsche Bank, Brown University, Michigan State University, Rite Aid, Fredericks of Hollywood, Massage Envy, Genband, Planet Finance, Gazelle, NTS, EMC, Joslin, Olympus… When you meet him, ask him to rattle off the entire list—it’s crazy impressive.

Waseem has also worked on three continents, spent a summer as a carny building tents, ushered with Cirque Du Soleil, and hitchhiked to India’s Taj Mahal. He speaks six languages because three just wouldn’t cut it—and he’s captured the nuances of uttering “CommCreative” in 27 dialects.

Todd Stephany

Creative Director/Copy

Todd brings two decades of experience producing targeted and effective brand and direct response communications to the CommCreative family. He came to us from Los Angeles, where his career highlights included writing and singing a jingle for Mercury Insurance, creating a Toyota Tacoma ride experience that toured with the Bassmaster Classic, and getting Gary Coleman to say “Whatchu talking about?” for a broadcast spot.

Todd plays three instruments proficiently, holds an MFA in writing from the University of Southern California (where his smarty-pants wife also holds a PhD in Neuroscience), is kind of a hack at golf, and is the proud father of 5-year-old Veronica.

Carter Kasdon

Associate Creative Director / Art Director

Originally trained as a fine artist, Carter found advertising a more exciting outlet for his creativity. He brings a wealth of experience across a wide range of clients, including IBM, Glidden, Kaspersky, Zipcar, Hasbro, Bose, Raytheon and more. And he’s proven he’ll go all-out for those clients, like when he played a surgical patient learning to walk with crutches for a New England Baptists Hospital video (perhaps not Oscar-worthy, but an acclaimed performance nonetheless).

Outside of the office, Carter is vastly outnumbered by his wife and two girls. He is always at fault. He also loves mud runs, which is ironic, since he’s kind of a germophobe.
