"The really great man is the man who makes everyone feel great."
Today's fortune came from Jennifer Pallis Paquette of Littleton, MA. Jennifer and I were next door neighbors growing up, and I called her "Jenny". We played in the dirt, caught frogs in the stream, and climbed trees. We raced each other on our bikes and played cops and robbers, hide and seek and swam in her pool. We fought like siblings sometimes, but mostly we were good buddies. Jenny and me were like peas and carrots!
Today's Marketing Cookie is about greatness.
I've learned that there is no greater motivator than inspiration. Money and position are motivating, but will only get you so far. The truth is that the people on your team really just want to be inspired. When they are truly inspired, they will work harder, stay later and they will overcome even the greatest challenges to accomplish their goals. You, as their leader, must inspire them in order to achieve greatness.
Remember, greatness can not be achieved by yourself.
Even in a solo sport, the athlete must have a vision for winning and inspire their coach to believe that they have the commitment to do what it takes to win the gold. Yes, you heard me. I believe an athlete must inspire their coach. It is not the other way around. If the athlete is not inspired to learn, train and compete, there is very little a coach can do.
Are you inspired? Do you have a vision for what can be accomplished? Everyone around you is ready and just waiting for you to lead them to victory. Remember that they won't follow you because you chose to be their leader, and they won't follow you even if you have been appointed as their leader. No. They will follow you because they are inspired by you and they can see that you are willing to do what it takes to succeed. When you speak, you make them feel good, and they want to be around you! As today's fortune says, "The really great man is the man who makes everyone feel great."
